As of Sunday, March 28th, we’ve had 71 Faith Walk pledge cards turned in. Those cards represent the following commitments:

General fund: $148,892

3 yr Building fund total: $273,892

We are closer to our goal! If you have not made your faith walk pledge, remember that you can still bring your Faith Walk Commitment card to church on Sunday (drop it off at the Faith Walk table) or you can make a commitment online by clicking here.

Also, note that as of March 1st the “Faith on Fire” Building Campaign has ‘merged’ with the Faith Walk campaign. Offerings made to “Faith on Fire” will be applied to Faith Walk and statements issued accordingly. We are asking that folks will fulfill their “Faith on Fire” commitments as part of, but not in addition to Faith Walk. This topic is addressed more fully in the first two questions of the FAQ section on www.ourfaithwalk.net.

On our Faith Walk celebration Sunday (2/28) we had 60 pledge cards turned in. Those cards represented the following commitments:

General fund: $133,349

1st yr Building fund: $84,824

3 yr Building fund total: $244,272

We have approximately 140 families in our church directory that are either members or regular attenders. These initial commitments are encouraging, but in order to reach our goal, we need to hear from everyone! Remember that you can still bring your Faith Walk Commitment card to church on Sunday (drop it off at the Faith Walk table) or you can make a commitment online by clicking here.

Praise God for the work he has done and is doing in our congregation. May we see His vision for our ministry realized!

As a congregation we desire to seek the Lord and ask His blessing upon our ministry. Fasting is Biblical, and very appropriate at times of need and preparation. Below is information that is helpful to you as you fast.

(Our Congregational Day of Prayer and Fasting was on Feb. 26 & 27, 2010)

Friday, Feb. 26th – Saturday, Feb. 27th

In Scripture: to fast is normal, personal and occasional, as the need arises. The Saving Grace Congregational 24hr. Fast is for a time of special need. We want to call upon the Lord together for the Faith Walk of both our congregation and our members’ needs.

Put yourself on a Schedule:

2Tim.1:7-8 –Spirit of power and love and discipline. For maximum spiritual benefit set aside ample time to be alone with the Lord. The more time you spend with Him, the more meaningful your fast will be. Try replacing your eating time with prayer and Bible study.

Expect Results:

If you sincerely humble yourself before the Lord, repent, pray and seek God’s face. And if you meditate on His Word, you will experience a heightened awareness of His presence. John 14:21

*Please note if you have any medical concerns, please check with your physician first.

What is Prayer?

Prayer is communicating with God and expressing our devotion to our heavenly Father. When we pray, we invite Him to talk to us as we talk to Him.

Why Pray?

God’s Word commands us to pray Luke 18:1, Acts 6:4, Mark 14:38 Prayer releases God’s great power to bring about change.

Whom to Pray to?

We pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Ro.8:26, 27, 34

What are we Praying for?

The basic elements of praying include Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication (“ACTS”).

Friday, Feb. 26th, Evening — Beginning the Fast 6pm – 8pm

Get alone for an unhurried time of “seeking His face;”

This may be a time to meet with friends who are fasting also.

Repent, fast and pray. 2 Chron.7:14

Fruit Juices, preferably freshly squeezed or unsweetened, blended and diluted 50%

Saturday, Feb. 27th, Morning – 5am – 8am

Begin your day in praise and worship

Read and meditate on God’s word.

Invite the Holy Spirit to work in you to will and to do His good pleasure. Phil.2:13

Pray for His vision for our Pastor and leadership staff and empowerment to do His will.

Fruit juices, preferably freshly squeezed or blended and diluted 50%.

Saturday, Feb. 27th, Noon – 10:30am – Noon

Return to prayer and God’s Word. Mt.18: 19,20

Take a short prayer walk.

Spend time in intercessory prayer for Pastor Augie and Deacon Brent and our congregation’s leaders.

Spend time in intercessory prayer for personal needs and the needs of our congregation

Fresh or purchased vegetable juice or a combination vegetable juice

Saturday, Feb. 27th, Afternoon – 2:30pm – 4pm

Prepare to end the fast.

Herb tea (caffeine free) with a drop of honey.
